Comment on Why the selfie generation struggle with social media maturity by Jerry Silfwer /trends/social/selfie-generation/#comment-6547 Sun, 03 Mar 2019 00:53:11 +0000 https://www.doctorspin.org/?p=35424#comment-6547 Speaking of infantilisation: I found an interesting biblical quote by the apostle St. Paul. It’s interesting, I think, by how passé its message sounds to our modern ears.

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

Master degrees in Sweden will require 4+ years. If you’re not going for the strategic level of the profession, then a shorter non-academic stint could definitely do the trick.

Comment on How to write a blogger outreach email (including two templates) by Jerry Silfwer /digital-comms/influencer-marketing/write-blogger-outreach-email/#comment-6545 Tue, 26 Feb 2019 09:55:14 +0000 https://doktorspinn.com/?p=19441#comment-6545 In reply to Ronald Brantley.

Hi Ronald and congrats on getting your business up.

I would suggest looking into the food vlogging scene. Can you offer food vloggers a free Buffalo wing challenge? Or have them be invited to the kitchen and have them whip together their favourite version of Buffalo wings which you then would serve in your restaurant with their brand name? Start by researching the food vloggers and get into what type of content they like to produce and use that content as starting points for coming up with your own creative ideas.

Hi Geoffrey,

Great question. Research your targets to figure out who you should contact at the brand. Sending pitches like this to general contact-addresses rarely works. Target brands who are already doing giveaways of their products to other influencers of your size for best hit rate.

Also, make sure to target food PR agencies. Ending up on their lists as being positive to product testing could prove more useful than going straight for the target brands.

When you email your targets, make sure to present your numbers. How big is your audience? How many reactions do you typically get? And some examples of previous reviews and product shots, of course.

It’s a sales grind in itself, so be prepared to get several “no” for each and every “yes”. Happy hunting.

My problem is that I’m trying to attract more customers from the surrounding area. I have just a few locals coming and a lot of repeat customers. My food is a 10 and the service is excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, but I really need help with getting exposure. I’m located in Stone Mountain.

A bit like you say in your blogger outreach piece, you can tell when its a copy and paste job! Thanks!

I am wondering if you have a blog post (or can email me some pointers) on writing an outreach email to food brands / food producers from me (the blogger) asking if they would like for me to make a recipe using their product, and if they would sponsor it. Doesn’t have to be monetary for now, just free product to use and take pictures of.
Thanks!
