Contrary to what some people might think, I don’t go around thinking about public relations all the time. I do also think about more general issues — just like any normal person would. Obviously, some of these thoughts end up here.
I find it helpful to write about complex matters. The process of putting ‘putting word to paper’ forces me to think in a more structured manner, I believe. Like brain fuel.
But, you should also be warned — especially if you take offence easily. I often discuss my in-your-face atheism. I often take swings at identity politics and political correctness. I’m biased towards technology optimism and I believe that copyright doesn’t work. Also, my science-based rationalism does come off as somewhat intolerant every now and then.
However, you should explore this section for what it is: I’m an urban white-collar academic from a rural working-class background who is using his blog and his keyboard to get a better sense of some of the complexities of our time.
All I ask of you is that you don’t rush to judgement. I’m a bonafide expert on public relations and my practical experience surely warrants some actual authority. But, in terms of every other topic? Then, I’m just an average person trying to figure not-so-average things out.
I’m sure that I’m wrong about half of these things, anyway.
