Okay, so let me just watch that epic snow fight one more time.
As I’m constantly trying to become a better photographer, I find myself studying other visual storytellers with awe. Like David Leitch, for example. The director of the spectacular John Wick movies was commissioned to shoot a short movie entirely on the iPhone. He chose to portray a gang of underdog kids getting the upper hand in a snow fight. And I honestly enjoyed every millisecond of the snowbrawl.
From having watched it over and over, I have two observations on offer:
It’s simply amazing what kind of cameras most of us is carrying around in our pockets. It should encourage us all to try harder in sharing our lives via video.
Video is all about storytelling. Every joule of energy going into a project is going into the final product. What you save on expensive camera equipment must be diverted into preparations and creative exploration.
